About the Role

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of plant machinery (mixers, conveyors, pumps, etc.)
  • Diagnose faults and repair or replace mechanical components (bearings, belts, seals, etc.
  • Carry out fabrication work including welding, cutting, and grinding
  • Assist in installation, alignment, and modification of equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify leaks, vibrations, or abnormal conditions
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, especially for hot work activities
  • Maintain basic maintenance records and report breakdowns
  • Support production team during breakdowns and urgent maintenance needs

Your Skills and Experience

  • Minimum Matric/FSc, candidates with DAE Mechanical will be preferred
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferably in an industrial setup
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and plant machinery
  • Hands-on skills in welding (arc, gas, MIG/TIG) and gas cutting
  • Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and spare parts used in maintenance
  • Understanding of safety procedures, especially hot work and permit-to-work systems
  • Basic knowledge of alignment, fitting, and fabrication techniques
  • Ability to use measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic documentation and reporting skills
