Reporting to the Senior Production Supervisor, the role of Production Supervisor would need to perform the following.
General Function
- Immediate supervisor of all the production workers in the plant.
- To supervise, motivate, train new employees, maintain discipline, control manpower deployment, reduces overtime, maintains good working relationship with subordinates and to study ways to improve the section to increase high output and quality standard.
- To ensure workers carry out/follow up on instructions given
Responsibilities
PRODUCTION PLANT
- Record daily attendance and report to immediate supervisor of medical leave, absence, lateness, annual leave taken by the workers.
- Submit monthly attendance incentive/overtime to immediate supervisor for approval.
- Informed of unusual happenings major or minor incidents, accidents, hazardous situations or any other problems to immediate supervisor.
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned
RAW MATERIALS
- Achieve the daily production schedule set target and ensure the appropriate stock of manufactured products for division are maintained.
- Ensure the procurement of raw materials and packing materials is sufficient to meet the requirement of the section.
- Responsible for production process control for the division. Co-ordinate for product trouble shooting in plant, monitor change of mixing instruction procedures for product, if necessary.
- Responsible for monitoring the stock level of all materials and packing materials are properly identified, marked and stored.
- Ensure that the mixing instruction procedure materials as specified on the B.O.M. are strictly followed, correct use of machinery and equipment by operators must be supervised.
- Ensure that raw materials used by operators follow the B.O.M production sheet. Any discrepancy must be rectified immediately.
- Ensure that raw materials stock is updated and an accurate physical count if and discrepancy is spotted. Conduct physical count on all materials twice a year.
MACHINE MAINTENANCE
- Responsible for the maintenance of all the machineries and equipment in the plant are clean at serviceable condition. Keep a record of all break-down and report of machinery malfunction.
SAFETY
- Ensure the plant is kept clean as good housekeeping should always be practised.
- Factory equipment, light, fans etc are switched off and all mixing vessels are emptied or valves secured, bungs intact before factory are left unattended.
- Responsible for training workers on handling chemical spillage and emergency response activities. All new workers are to be familiarized with all aspects of safety, according to the new employee induction procedure checklist. Upon completion of the induction, the immediate supervisor and the new employee must sign the form.
- Ensure that workers are instructed and follow the procedures as prescribed for hazardous-chemical handling
- To ensure that workers, visitors and contractors wear appropriate safety protection equipment within the factory premises.
- To ensure first aid kit is well maintained and replenished when necessary.
- To ensure that fire extinguisher, spill/chemicals and other safety equipment are well maintained and replenish when necessary
- Forms a part of safety committee.
- Ensure that workers are following safety procedures, rules and regulation. Report all incident and accident.
- Ensure all workers are adequately trained in the safe and correct use of machine and equipment in the plant.
- To submit the following reports to immediate supervisor:
- Monthly production output
- Overtime report including reason for working overtime
- Accurate compilation of workers’ time sheet
