Sika® Antisol® A-4

Water dispersed, acrylic copolymer based concrete curing compound

Sika® Antisol® A-4 a water dispersed acrylic copolymer based curing compound. It is ready to use and simple to apply. Sika® Antisol® A-4 will form a thin film, covering the surface of the concrete to prevent premature water loss due to evaporation.

Sika® Antisol® A-4 provides the following beneficial properties to the concrete surfaces:
  • Clear, non-staining, non toxic
  • Reduces incidence of plastic cracking
  • Reduces shrinkage
  • Reduces surface dusting
  • Eliminates expensive methods of curing such as hessian-watering, etc.

Usage

Sika® Antisol® A-4 is sprayed on to newly laid concrete surfaces to form a thin film barrier against premature water loss, without disturbing the normal setting action. Sika® Antisol® A-4 is suitable where subsequent surface treatment with acrylic paints and polymer modified mortar or plaster etc. are required.

Shelf life

6 months from date of production if stored properly in unopened original packaging.

Storage conditions

Store in dry condition at temperatures +10 to +40°C. Protect from frost and direct sun light.

Technical Information

Specific Advice

After application the coating are must be protected from rain for at least 2 – 3 hours.

  • To prevent clogging, regular cleaning of jet sprays during application is recommended.
  • Sika® Antisol® A-4 can be sprayed using most common spraying equipment.
  • Sika® Antisol® A-4 can be overcoated with other coating.
  • Early application of Sika® Antisol® A-4 will help prevent plastic shrinkage cracks from occurring by reducing the amount of water evaporating. Concrete curing compounds, however, will not counter the effects of cracking that may occur as a result of long term drying shrinkage. Standard concrete practice must be applied when positioning construction joints and shrinkage control joints.

5 to 6.5 m2 per liter depending on wind, humidity and temperature condition. Actual dosage to be finalised on the basis of site trials.
Application steps

APPLICATION

Spray application on newly laid concrete as soon as surface water evaporates. Roller and brush can be used for hardened concrete.

For vertical surfaces, apply immediately after removal of formwork.

After application, the area must be protected from rain for at least 2-3 hours.
